Parian Clay

Ceramic flower sculptures made using Parian Clay which gives a marble like finish. Parian clay is self glazing clay which is fired to 1230c.

Parian Clay was developed by the Staffordshire pottery manufacturer Mintons’ in 1845. It was named after Paros, the Greek island renowned for its fine-textured, white Parian marble, used since antiquity for sculpture
